Update – January 14th 2018: If you still receive password prompts, you Outlook 2016 client may be trying to autoconfigure with Office365 instead of your on-premise Exchange deployment. On CU8, new issues arose and were resolved by fully resetting (restoring to default) the virtualdirectory configuration, and then re configuring them with the appropriate URL values.

Installed the latest windows and office updates.Of course the user can just close the login mask and try to work (like above mentioned it's possible to send and receive emails) but eventually the login mask will appear again and it's really annoying.Įventually I added the user's email account on another station and I got the same behaviour. The entered password is correct (tested via web email) but it will never be accepted and the login loop will never end (no error message is displayed it's just a neverending loop). What is peculiar: the user is able to send and receive emails but unfortunately the "Need Password" message will not disappear.Īdditionally quite often the login mask appears and it's displaying the user's email address and asking for login. I have an user that since last Sunday is complaining about the "Need Password" message.Īfter performing an office repair, removing the email account and adding it again the issue is still not solved.
